In this presentation Abisara Machold and Michal Harewood will introduce a new and exclusive training program for students and professional hair stylists who would like to become natural Hair and Curl experts. Exploring the different courses and techniques that will be offered and important business aspects, this Introduction is for everybody who wants to get on top of their curl-game!

That’s A Wrap!: Headwrap Workshop
This headwrap workshop is for everyone! Learn the techniques used to create these stunning designs and more. Monique of London Ivy will lead the hands-on interactive headwrap tying demonstrations. Monique loves African headdresses and will be sharing her passion for all things Ankara with you. You will leave our workshop equipped with the skills and confidence to rock your wrap.

From tangling to breakage, poor curl definition to dryness, type 4 hair can be challenging to care for on the best of days. Combine poor understanding of your hair texture, ineffective styling techniques and incorrect product selection, it’s understandable why many women with type 4 hair don’t fully embrace their natural hair texture and are ready to give up. It doesn’t have to be this way! If you are frustrated with your hair and need major help this workshop is for you! Learn the unique characteristics of your hair type and common coily hair challenges.
Understand the fundamentals of type 4 hair care, proper product selection basics and tips for styling to bring out the absolute best in your curl pattern and hair texture. What will be the result? You’ll absolutely love your type 4 hair!

YouTube is the number one source of information when it comes to Natural hair so it was only normal that we talked about it. In this workshop, we will learn to recognize the channels where you can find reliable information. Which myths found on YouTube are potential hazards to our hair? On what grounds can you launch your own channel? Can you learn to take care of my hair only by watching videos on YouTube? Together, we will answer all these questions!

Curls from all Nations: Diversity & Self acceptance
What are the challenges curly girls face in their communities? Where lie our differences and what are the challenges we all face as curly women? In this panel discussion, we want to explore the stereotypes and trials for curly girls in the north african-arabic, white, black & jewish community.

There are so many beautiful shapes out there that I can understand how confusing (and annoying) it can be to then look at yourself in the mirror and say, OK how do I do this?!
After working as a makeup artist for more than 20 years, I realized that we need to have a serious conversation about our brows. We will talk, share our struggles with them brows and learn how to perfect them. I am here to help you!

We want to look at the specific challenges, different approaches as well as commonalities between men and women in the corporate and entrepreneurial world. The aim is to get a better understanding of our individual and collective realities, so we can learn from each other, better work together and empower one another.

From hair trauma to Dream curls: 101 on natural hair care for Parents & Children (+10 years ): interactive!
This interactive workshop will be separated into two groups: parents and children
(10+). While teaching children and teenagers simple but effective hair styling techniques, we will teach parents all about product must-haves and important NoNo’s, provide practical tips and tricks and answers to your most burning questions on curly and natural hair care.
11h-12h: Workshop
EN’TYCE: From the “Outside In” Workshop
At this workshop we are going to demystify and expose the truth about the natural ingredients in hair products but also how & where they can affect the health of your body. We will discuss some staple foods for healthy body & hair. Bring your cameras, pens, notebook, your personal hair accessories and utensils, i-e: brushes, combs etc. Also we encourage & challenge you to bring some of your own hair & skin care products that are apart of your regimen and let’s see how they stand up to the TRUTH.

BLACK WOMEN RISE: Self-Love, Womb Wellness and Health Empowerment.
An interactive talk about how the healing journey of the black woman touching on emotional health, womb wellness and the importance of health empowerment.

We will look into society’s beauty standards and indirectly our own, to ask ourselves this question: What is beauty?
This workshop isn’t your typical beauty workshop. We will challenge ourselves to think outside the little pretty box of beauty and redefine our own rules. Beauty standards can define you, only if you allow them to.
